Perrilloux Bites the Dust

by Allison on May 2nd, 2008

Ryan Perrilloux As I’m sure you’ve heard by now, LSU Coach Les Miles has kicked would-be start quarterback Ryan Perrilloux off of the team for good.

Thank god.

Seriously, that kid was nothing but trouble. The Tigers will be much more able to focus without his never-ending antics off the field, which have resulted in not only team violations, but also academic failure and problems with the law. His latest (and final) dismissal comes after he tested positive in a team drug screening.

And while I’d love to sit here and make fun of the guy and tell him what a dumbass he is for ruining a potentially AMAZING season and even an NFL career (he showed great promise), really, this is just tragic. Perrilloux’s downfall began in February when his father passed away and he missed mandatory team meetings and practices. I have to think that at least some of his problems stem from his grief.

Sources close to Perrilloux says that he intends to transfer to a Div-II school where he can play for two years while he’s still eligible. I wish him luck, with the hope that he cleans up his act.
