New NCAA Uniforms for 2008

by Allison on April 6th, 2008

Football uniforms have always been a hot topic. It makes sense - if I’m going to shell out the cash for a fan jersey, I don’t want to look like a douche. There are quite a few teams getting new uniforms in 2008, so I thought I’d compile a list of links to show you. If your team is getting new uniforms and you don’t see them on this list, leave a comment to let me know!

Hawaii

Kentucky (rumored, but I couldn’t confirm)

Miami

Minnesota (not yet revealed at time of this post)

South Florida

Utah

POSTED IN: Hawaii, Kentucky, Miami, South Florida

Why doesnt Boise State have an alternate orange jersey. That would look sweet on the Blue turf!

Nebraska: they might want to switch it up a little. I personally think a red and white Boise State would work what u think? And Black Miami, I have been saying this for at least three years! bout time!

the Black Miami Jersesy look pretty bad in basketball, the colors dont really mix well, the way to do it is to put white as the trim and have onr color or the other as the main color, the could try how the mets do it and have both colors with a white shadow effect, but they use a deep forest green that is very dark unlike the mets’ bright blue. Dark green and black work well, orange and green only work well for the canes, but black and orange never look good together its hard to make them look natural looking. Maryland, and florida State have done this the best, because there colors didnt clash, gold and black look nice, and the maroon was nicely complemented by the gold, Maryland’s colors are black red and white (and their jerseys were black about 8 years or so ago)

Last year unc made their pants shorter, and i think i read somewhere that they added back the stripe, but i may be making that up thinking i read that. Im surprised unc has had those lackluster helmets for so long, I preferred the ones with the white stripe down the middle and the 2 thick dark Blue stripes on either side, with the NC on the sides also surrounded by the dark blue. I think the heels still have the NC with a thin dark blue line but they no longer have the stripe- i was surprised when they downgraded the style a few years back, it really does make the team seem boring especially with the extremely bright and boring camera work and overall presentation the CW does (the acc game of the week- i think it used to be called JP Sports or something))

Mike, when you say ASU who do you mean (arizona st., alabama st. arkansas st. alcorn st.?) i booted up ncaa football 04 and 05, and couldnt find a difference between Arizona st.’s current jersey and the jersey on the game, and out of the ASUs i could htink of that one was the only major college football program so i figured thats who you were talking about. Now i did notice a change in the away jersey for the Arkansas Razorbacks, which had maroon piping on the front, and notices that Arkansas was smaller in print etc, did you mean them? also note that NCAA football is notorious to overlooking changes in uniforms, so they may have overlooked Arizona St.’s. And unless youve heard some sort of plans for new unis they most likely wont have any new regular rotation unis.

douglas sorry i meant Arizona State, we are now a legit contender for the pac 10 conference, and reading many articles over the past few months i am starting to realize how much uniforms play into recruiting ie Oregon and Miami. if you go back to 2003 Aarizona st had monochromatic white with white adidas on the road and an updated yellow pant and maroon jersey, when they went back to Nike the uniforms are similar to the uniforms from the late 90s, i would like to see an update

okay, i see what you’re saying, i was looking for a radical change. I know what you mean about updating, My team is Georgia Tech, and the only changes they have made in my lifetime has been number style, and an addition of Georgia Tech just below the collar, though its is written pretty small. they also moved from navy Jerseys to gold in 1994 but they wore white at home and away whenever they could between then and 05.
