Inside the 2008 NFL Draft: Atlanta Falcons
Now that we’ve had a bit of time to think about the draft picks, let’s go through them one by one. How did your favorite team do? Here’s my take on the Atlanta Falcons.
Draft Picks:
Matt Ryan, QB, Boston College (Rd. 1, Pick 3)
Sam Baker, OT, USC (Rd. 1, Pick 21)
Curtis Lofton, OLB, Oklahoma (Rd. 2)
Chevis Jackson, CB, LSU (Rd. 3)
Harry Douglas, WR, Louisville (Rd. 3)
Thomas DeCoud, S, Cal (Rd. 3)
Robert James, OLB, Arizona State (Rd. 5)
Kroy Biermann, LB, Montana (Rd. 5)
Thomas Brown, TB, Georgia (Rd. 6)
Wilrey Fountenot, CB, Arizona (Rd. 7)
Keith Zinger, TE, LSU (Rd. 7)
Best Value:
Matt Ryan
I know, I know - I’ve said multiple times that picking a quarterback early on isn’t that great of an option, given the amazing talent out there this year. However, the Falcons REALLY need a franchise QB right now, and I think that they may have found it in Matt Ryan. Getting him third pick might really pay off.
