Inside the 2008 NFL Draft: Buffalo Bills
Now that we’ve had a bit of time to think about the draft picks, let’s go through them one by one. How did your favorite team do? Here’s my take on the Buffalo Bills.
Draft Picks:
Leodis McKelvin, CB, Troy (Rd. 1, Pick 11)
James Hardy, WR, Indiana (Rd. 2)
Chris Ellis, DE, Virginia Tech (Rd. 3)
Reggie Corner, CB, Arkron (Rd. 4)
Derek Fine, TE, Kansas (Rd. 4)
Alvin Bowen, OLB, Iowa State (Rd. 5)
Xavier Omon, Rb, NW Missouri State (Rd. 6)
Demetrius Bell, OT, NW State (Rd. 7)
Steve Johnson, WR, Kentucky (Rd. 7)
Kennard Cox, DB, Pittsburgh (Rd. 7)
Best Value:
Leodis McKelvin
A close second to my pick of Leodis McKelvin as best value is Chris Ellis. McKelvin is a strong player, and deserving of the 11th spot, and I think he has the most potential on this list. However, Ellis, if he explodes in the NFL, had a ton of potential too and wasn’t picked until much later. So, while I think it is more likely that McKelvin will thrive playing pro football, if Ellis does as well, he’ll be the better value. Only time can tell!
