I’m BAAAAAAAACK….
After throwing a little temper tantrum on Monday, Washington’s running back J.R. Hasty is back. Hasty was disgruntled by his lack of playing time this season, so last Monday, he quit.
Now, I haven’t been following Washington too closely this season, but can anyone tell me why the hell they haven’t been playing him? Everyone has him pegged as one of Coach Tyrone Willingham’s top recruits, and he had amazing stats during high school, along with a great lineage - Papa Hasty is ex-NFL Pro Bowl cornerback James Hasty. If I’m not mistaken, isn’t Washington’s season in the toilet? Why aren’t they letting him play?
Thanks a legitimate question, not me being critical. I honestly don’t follow this school’s football enough to know. Does he have an attitude problem? I mean, the kid did just have a hissy fit. Maybe he’s been a prima donna all year so the coaches aren’t playing him.
But really, that’s a shot in the foot, isn’t it? You should always play your best players.
Even more perplexing to me is why they let him back on the team. If there’s one thing I do know, it is that no better how good a player may be, he needs to have respect for a coach’s decision or play for a different coach. I wouldn’t have let him come back. Would you?
