I have Mixed Feelings about Coach Rich Rodriguez
ESPN has announced that Coach Rich Rodriguez, currently the head coach at West Virginia, will replace Michigan head coach Llyod Carr, who is set to retire after his team plays in Capital One Bowl against Florida. I have to admit, I have mixed feelings.
Not that I don’t think Coach Rod will work out well in Ann Arbor. I do (for many of the same reasons Daniel Young at Bleacher Report mentions). Once again, however, a coach is leaving his team before the season is over. When West Virginia plays in the Fiesta Bowl, Coach Rod will not be coaching. It isn’t as bad as Petrino leaving with three games left in the Falcon’s season, but it is still bad for moral. And, given that Coach Carr will be coaching against Florida, is there really a reason Coach Rod needs to leave so suddenly?
What so you guys think about Michigan’s newest hire?

I’m a huge Michigan fan, and I haven’t quit smiling since Friday when I first heard about the meeting in Toledo. This is the best thing that has happened to Michigan in years. I’m always blindly optimistic about my beloved team, but for once I feel as if it may actually be justified.
