Happy Father’s Day, NCAA Dads
They may be few and far between, but I just wanted to say a Happy Father’s Day to all the NCAA dads out there. It’s great that you’re able to devote time to attending school, playing football, and raising a child.
Interesting point - a few years ago, the NCAA ruled that football players with expecting girlfriends could not take a year off and be eligible for an extra year of football. Female student athletes, however, would have a year of leeway if they became pregnant. The reasoning is that the “year off” rule is because the physical problems of being a pregnant athlete, not allowing time off to parent.
As far as I know, that rule had not been changed, but I couldn’t find a ton of information on it. How do you feel about this rule?
