BCS Standings, October 21
The BCS Standings were announced today. Let’s see how my list holds up!
BCS:
1. Ohio State
2. Boston College
3. LSU
4. Arizona State
5. Oregon
6. Oklahoma
7. West Virginia
8. Virginia Tech
9. Kansas
10. South Florida
11. Florida
12. USC
13. Missouri
14. Kentucky
15. Virginia
16. South Carolina
17. Hawaii
18. Georgia
19. Texas
20. Michigan
21. California
22. Auburn
23. Connecticut
24. Alabama
25. Penn State
Ohio definitely has a top defense…but offense? We’ll see. This coming week they play my Lions, who are ranked for the first time in quite a few weeks at #25. I think that game will come down to one thing - mistakes. If Penn State can score early and get Morelli riled up, they have a chance to win it, but I do think it’s a long shot against this Ohio D.
Personally, I’m looking forward to the Boston College Virgina Tech game. I think BC has been a bit overrated all season, but with this real test, it will be good to see if they have what it takes to really be a BCS champion. I’ll give the the benefit of the doubt for now.
LSU - Alabama will be interesting as well. I tend to think that LSU is better than people say. Yes, they had that loss against Kentucky. Yes, they had a few close calls with Florida and Auburn. But in college football, it’s all about momentum. They were in the swing of things earlier this season, so let’s see if they can bring that back for a big win this week.
Arizona State stands as one of the few remaining undefeated teams in BCS college football. This week, they play Cal, a team coming off of two rough losses after being ranked #2. If the team really puts their trust in Nate Longshore, they’ll have a chance to get that sixth win for the season to be bowl eligible, but really, it may come down to Cal’s D. Can they stop Michel Jones, Ryan Torain, and Keegan Herring?
What are your thoughts on the upcoming games?
